Controller (Austria & Switzerland) – (86333)

Responsible for the Financial leadership of the Company’s Leasing Business, while implementing and managing robust and effective Leasing procedures to drive operational excellence through resource and process alignment.

 

Primary objectives:

  • Drive Financial Business Performance

  • Articulation of Key Financial Indicators for the Leasing Business

  • Period Out Looking and Planning (one year – Strategic Plans)

  • Partner with Leasing GM providing technical accounting advice

  • Provide Business Owners with insight and information about business activities

  • Design, Implementation and monitoring of key internal controls

  • Provide financial leadership and guidance supporting the overall company and principles

  • Liaise between the Leasing Business segment and the other Financial functions of the Company (Controller, Accounting, COE, Risk, OTC, FP&A, etc..) using influence to achieve business outcomes that are aligned with the Company accounting principles and standards

  • Drive operational excellence in performance management

  • Team management (KPI: Employee performance in accordance with PEP target).

Scope of the role:

  • This role has no people management responsibilities

  • The job holder have budgetary responsibilities

  • Internal relationships include the Xerox country and central Leasing teams, Region Sales, Risk, Marketing, Finance and Operations teams, service providers and other Xerox stakeholders.

  • External relationships include service providers, consultants, customers, legal counsel, Xerox partners and industry peers.

Major responsibilities:

  • Responsibility to drive Financial Business Performance/ Business Partner to GM within the Region, particularly focusing on the relevant aspects

  • ESR & Volume: Ensure Company is maximizing & retaining Customers. Provide trends, cycles, deep dive on lost deals/customer/3rd Part

  • Portfolio Hydraulics: Interpret historic/current drivers to grow Net Fin Rec.

  • Price Management & Profitability: Ensure Company is maximizing Price & Profitability. Set & Get rate, adherence to Policy & Impact of competition, look for Premium Pricing/Value Proposition, acquisition of New Customers, Risk & Productivity Pricing

  • Channel & Partner Profitability: Assess actual and prospective (Proforma), ensuring Company is investing Capital efficiently. Balance Profit Generation to return on Capital Deployed

  • Fees, Secondary & Residual: Ensure Company is maximizing opportunities to earn Non interest Income, managing opportunities, capabilities, policies, processes, execution and maximization

  • Competitive Benchmarketing: Assess current rates, fees, risk appetite, value offerings to win business and convert Commercial Offering to Financial Performance

  • Manage Loss Rate Model

  • Manage Productivity, maximizing return on investment/equity, while ensuring process productivity

  • Governance & Operational:

    • Manage and ensure BQC Compliance

    • Representation Letter

    • Statutory Accounts

    • Partner Payments

    • Management of loss rate Model

    • Manage & Support audits (PWC, EY, IC)

    • Month Close & Financials

    • Issues on Financial Reporting

    • Engage with Country Controller & COE

    • Period Reviews & Financial Performance

    • Share best practices

  • Articulates the Financial Performance of the Business, managing P&L, Balance Sheet, Tier ½ KPI’s, Volume, Margins, Write Offs, Yield, Margins, Portfolio Evolution/Amortization and early termination

  • Manage and perform the periodic out looking & planning, working with the functional leaders and Leasing GM’s to capture the hydraulics influencing the results, identifying and managing risks and opportunities. Carry out model/assumptions and follow up discussions with the local leadership and Country Finance/CLG

  • Reviews and approves information provided by the business, supporting and proposing business decisions

  • Assess accounting risk for the business segment, providing appropriate feedback while helping to drive effective accounting and business quality rules and efficient practices

  • Implement SLA’s with other functions (Accounting, OTC, Risk, COE, Logistics) and maintain period reviews of performance against SLA’s

  • Identify and implement opportunities to continuously improve controls and financial efficiency and effectiveness

  • Adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, company’s Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial data

  • Manage the operational relationship between the country and central resources to identify and fully understand unique business requirements, business impacts and agree resolutions.

  • Manage the communication, development and implementation of all operational activities in support of the central Leasing strategy.

  • Work with center to ensure necessary compliance requirements and controls are imbedded and pervasive within processes, programmes and systems to generate timely, accurate and efficient financial and management information.

  • Assess and address skill levels of direct team and associated groups. Provide training and guidelines to ensure skills are current and relevant.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with country Finance, Operations, OTC, Sales and Risk managers.

  • To lead and motivate regional Leasing teams in the delivery of their objectives. Ensure consistency of approach across all Leasing activities to optimise performance and drive desired results for plan and key operating metrics.

 

Candidate Education and Background:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum), preferably in Business, Management or Accounting

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Leasing Companies or similar as Finance Executive

  • USGAAP Revenue Recognition Experience

  • Accuracy

  • Numerate & PC Literate

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, Large Accounting Systems and Leasing Systems (SAP, Oracle, Profinance)

  • Good Interpretation and Management skills

  • Disciplined and methodical with an eye for detail

  • Organized, efficient and thorough to capture gaps in the process

  • Possess a willingness to take prime responsibility for projects and manage through to completion

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, colleagues in other departments in order to gain the correct information to perform the role and also to move the business forward by achieving buy-in to process improvements

  • Full understanding of the Leasing business and developments in the market

  • Understanding of finance agreements

  • International exposure with an understanding and appreciation of different cultures and environments

  • Fluency in English and at least two other languages used in the Country

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage virtual teams with conflicting deadlines

  • Self-motivated and team oriented with attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the legal ramifications of contracts

  • MBA qualification
