VAT Analyst – (86935)

Role Summary:As a VAT Analyst, you'll play an integral part within GE's Global Operations Center in Budapest, Hungary. Supporting GE's affiliates across numerous countries in Europe, this role provides legal, regulatory and tax compliance for multiple GE entities and focuses particularly on VAT analyses and preparation.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and analysis of VAT returns through SAP/Oracle VAT report on a monthly /bi-monthly/ quarterly basis
  • Preparing standard Intrastat, EU Sales reports + country specific other VAT related reports if required
  • Ensure to be compliant with country specific rules and obligations, meet the deadlines for all reports
  • Perform reconciliations between the VAT + Intrastat / EU sale reports
  • VAT liquidation process, VAT clearing postings;
  • Quarterly detailed account reconciliations in corporate account reconciliations tool;
  • Follow up with customer care / accounts payable team on erroneous account receivable /payable entries
  • Interaction with local VAT expert team in any technical questions
  • Cooperation with other functions and provide support in the area of VAT
  • Answer to any other VAT related queries

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or Certified accountant degree; experience in accounting preferably with experience on VAT
  • Understanding of basic VAT obligations and regulations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced excel user – especially the use of pivot tables & look up functionality
  • Working proficiency in English
  • Good communication and influencing skills;
  • Open personality with a proactive approach to adopt changes
  • Successful applicant will be legally eligible to enter into an employment relationship under the laws of Hungary
